Audit Chamber says Russia’s public utilities 60% worn out
MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Public utility infrastructure in Russia is worn out by 60%, Natalya Trunova, an auditor at the Audit Chamber, said in an interview with PRIME at the Eastern Economic Forum, released on Tuesday.
“Public utility systems, especially in small towns, are already severely worn out: on average, wear and tear is 60% in Russia,” Trunova said.
“Investments in this sector must take into account the latest technologies, including digital, as well as (where possible) organizational and technological changes,” Trunova said.
Trunova added that public utility infrastructure, including that of the houses built, should be made environmentally friendly.
“Energy efficiency should also be incorporated into construction of new housing, so that the parameters of this housing meet all modern requirements, not only on paper, but also in reality,” she said.
